• User Preferences: If you "favorite" a job or set up an Alert, we store that job ID and your search criteria to provide the service.
• Usage Data: We collect anonymous data such as IP addresses and browser types to improve site speed and performance.

We do not collect your official state application data. All applications occur on the official mn.gov portal, which has its own privacy policy.

2. How We Use & Share Your Data

Your data is used strictly to enhance your job discovery experience.

• Notifications: We use your email to send job alerts you have explicitly requested.
• Third-Party Sharing: We never sell your personal data. We do not share your "Favorited" jobs with the State of Minnesota or any third-party recruiters.
• Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how users interact with our site, helping us improve the experience.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and integrity of our users.

3. Your Control & Security

You have full control over your information on WorkInMN.

• Data Rights: You may view, edit, or delete your account and saved jobs at any time through your dashboard.
• Account Deletion: If you choose to delete your account, all associated email alerts and favorites will be permanently removed from our database.
• Security: We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS, secure password hashing) to protect your account data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
• Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Job listing data is refreshed daily from public sources. Historical job data may be retained for reference purposes but is not linked to individual users.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
